Process & Materials
Working primarily in hot glass, Yanick explores a range of forms including goblets, vessels, ornaments, bowls, and sculptural work. The process emphasizes balance, construction, and technical decision-making— particularly in how weight, proportion, and connection points influence the stability and character of each piece. Existing between control and fluidity, the work allows heat and gravity to remain visible, preserving evidence of the making process in the final form.

Artist Statement
I am a glass artist currently studying at Sheridan College's Glass Program. In the past year, I've developed a deep appreciation for goblet-making, which has become the focus of my work. I'm drawn to the precision, technicality, and difficulty of the process, which offers an endless variety of techniques and shapes.
At the moment, I'm in a stage of exploration and learning, absorbing as much as I can to improve my craft. Every piece I make is a learning opportunity, so that I can push my skills further and get a better understanding of the material. I'm enjoying the freedom to try new approaches, make mistakes, and grow through the process.
